What time is it?

Jaxson Douglas Moles jumped in to the world on July 9 at 3:38 a.m. He had us waiting in labor for 21 hours but only made his momma push for 34 minutes. Thank you, son!

Since coming home a week ago today, we have had quite the adventure. We have learned a few things: Jax loves to eat (last night it was every hour), he is not phased one bit by dog kisses or barks, he gets quite pleased with himself when he explodes some 'thunder from down under', he calms down when his hair is being washed, he and his daddy look the exact same way when they sleep, and he'd prefer to sleep while being held.

The last tid bit of info has caused some raucous in the Moles hole. Because I am breastfeeding I am on call when the dinner bell tolls. My growing boy was eating every two hours with a 3-4 hour stint in there some nights. However, when he turned 1 week old he has hit a growth spurt and now wants to eat about every 60-90 minutes. This equals a very fulfilled little boy, two sleepy dogs, one diaper duty dad, and one exhausted momma.

I no longer have any concept of days of the week, hours of the day, and have completely thrown my old schedule out the window. If I can get an hour nap every 12 hours, I'm happy! It's amazing the adrenaline God has provided me but I can't help looking over my shoulder to see it wave goodbye at any time.

All the diapers, spit up milk down my shirt, and sleepless days/nights are worth it. I hear it all the time from parents but now that I'm living the life, it truly is worth it and so much more to be able to hold my son and make everything all right for him; even at 2:00 a.m.
