Zoo date

Corey travels down to Indy a lot for meetings so this time Jax and I tagged along.

One of my good friends from growing up lives not too far so we met up at the zoo.

Mya, Mandy's daughter, is only 6 weeks older than Jax and we were lucky enough to help eachother through our pregnancies with all of our uncertainties and joys. (Including late night texts about body issues and what we were craving)

The kids pretty much ate the whole time and sort of acknowledged the animals but this was more of a mommy-date. It was great catching up and enjoying the nice weather!

We saw the new orangutan exhibit and they were very social, coming up to the windows and staring at everyone.

This poor guy needed a haircut bad!

We walked around for about 3 hours. The kids did well and stretched their legs every now and then.

We saw a momma and her baby elephant (fitting).

And the kids ate some more :)

It was great visiting and even more awesome that after walking around, eating, and watching animals both kids slept the whole way home! (Jax slept 3 straight hours!!)

It was a Christmas in July miracle! (But I payed for it that night 😴)

Happy Birthday!

Happy 1st Birthday, Jax!

You kept us up a year ago and we relived the experience a year later :)

Even though we lose sleep often, we wouldn't change it for anything.

I started the day with a big breakfast and packed a picnic lunch to bring to daddy's work.

I read some books before hitting the road.

We had to take our last monthly picture to show how much I have grown!

I ate lunch with daddy at his office and I showed off how I can walk and talk with the best of them.

Daddy's office is not far from Lake Michigan, so we took the rest of our goldfish and milk and drove to the beach.

We had beautiful weather and found a great spot in the sand to play and eat a snack.

I loved the sand! I even loved eating it! Mom didn't love that part though :)

We played in the water a bit to rinse off then headed back home.

I had my first taste of pizza and washed it down with some milk. Mainly the milk washed down my belly, so mom gave me a bath.

After cleaning up, mom, dad, and I went on a walk in the neighborhood. I don't know about them, but it made me really tired and I had mom put me to bed early.

It was a great day overall. Corey and I are so thankful for this year we have been given with Jax and can't wait to have many more with our big boy. We love him more and more every day.

Love you turtle!

Pop pops popped by

We had bought a house and started getting our house ready to go up for sale all within a week. Ronnie (Pop pops/papaw) came to visit and help.

Henry loves when he visits and won't leave his side! He even sleeps with him :)

We got to play and finally spend some time outdoors! Spring seemed to take forever to arrive this year.

On Saturday, we all went to the driving range where Jax got his first lesson on golf. He also wanted to learn how to drive ;)

Sadly, Pop Pops had the long trek back to Tennessee as well and had to leave. We had a great time and Jax can't wait to see him again :)

MoMo came to town

We love when Debbie (MoMo) comes to visit! Jax really loved all the hugs and kisses and we learned MoMo has the touch for feeding puréed foods!

Corey and I got to have some date times as well as hold a garage sale, have Jax's tubes put in, and oh you know...BUY A HOUSE!

One thing at a time:

Originally, I asked if Debbie could come up to watch Jax while I worked a garage sale. Corey and I had a small bet as to who could sell more merchandise and because of my terrible weather and it being a work day on my day, Corey squeaked by ;)

We also had planned out that the following Monday, Jax would have his ear tubes in. The procedure went well and he was a bit cranky after waking up but pulled through pretty quickly. They found a good amount of fluid and want to keep an eye on his adenoids.

He brought his Mickey to keep him company :)

The same day we just happened to see a new listing of a house that appealed to us. Debbie, Jax, and I went to do a quick walk-through. We loved it! Corey had to see it and the two of us went back that night. Knowing that this was our dream house and at the right price, we made an offer and it was accepted the next day!

*more of the new house to come*

Jax didn't want MoMo to go but she had to go back to Tennessee. We are so thankful for her taking time to come and help and visit. It's such a long drive but we love having our MoMo visit!

Easter

*I'm really behind...but going to catch up! I promise, Nana!*

Easter we visited Nana in Jackson.

Jax read Nana one of his favorite Dr. Seuss books.

The next morning was Easter Sunday and we all got dressed up for church where Jax was showed off :) The Easter Bunny left everyone some nice treats this year as well.

We changed in to some more comfy clothes afterwards and ate a magnificent dinner. (Nana pulled out all the stops!)

Our bellies are hearts were full from the exciting weekend and we said our goodbyes.

We love being so close for these weekend visits!

First trip to the Zoo

Two weekends ago we decided to visit our local zoo. We are lucky to have a lot of family-friendly places near us. There will be many more trips to the zoo as we bought a pass and it's a great way for mommy and Jax to stroll somewhere other than the neighborhood. :)

It was opening weekend and finally above 50 degrees; so it was packed!

Poor baby was ready for a nap.

Saw a shaved camel...weird to see it shaved.

Waving at the alpacas. (He just started waving to pretty much everyone and everything at this point.)

We made it to about a fourth of the exhibits and he was done for.

Dreaming of animals :)

9 months

I'm getting taller and my hair is growing longer.

I love Mickey Mouse and my parents are going to throw me a 1st birthday party with Mickey!

It's finally warm enough for mom and me to play outside. I love to "drive my car"and chase down Henry!

I've started liking more food and don't have to wait on my mom as much for her to feed me. (Thank The Lord!)

I've started helping with chores. I'm a good door opener and closer; even when mom doesn't ask :)

My teeth are growing and I'm up to 6! Growing teeth is hard work, I like to take longer naps now.

I was mom's date for Good Friday service. I held her close and made sure she paid attention.

I love to play with my neighbors! They have cool toys!

I also have expanded my love of reading. Don't give me Dr. Seuss, I've moved on to Dr. Conan Doyle ;)
