Growing

The past two weeks have seen much growth; for all three of us. We each have found we can do things we didn't think possible. Sometimes the accomplishments are big and others small.

Jax and I successfully survived our first night with Corey away on business. No one starved, was injured, or was lost. I did want to lock the dogs out of the house at about 2:30 a.m though.  I had just stood up to take Jax to bed and Ellie decides that's a great time to start bugging me to go outside. During the process of jumping and making a ton if noise she not only awoke the sleeping giant but knocked into my cello and disassembled it a bit. This really kicked my anger button in full mode and allowed me to stay up another hour trying to get Jax back to sleep.

I was able to get to about 3 hours of sleep (I think). Anymore, 30 minutes seem like 2 hours. Jax was content, I fed the dogs all their meals, and I even wore makeup today!

Our friends Kelly and Emma came for a visit. Emma got to hold Jax and he cooperated :)

Corey arrived home in time for dinner and we tried once again to feed Jax a bottle. I've been pumping but he's been so picky that some milk has gone to waste. Well, I'm happy to report that Lord smiled on us tonight and he took his first bottle!! And the angels rejoiced!

Corey has been such a tremendous help and I couldn't ask for a better husband, partner, and daddy for Jax. The man who could barely wake up when Henry would be barking in the middle of the night now has a trained ear for a baby's cry.

Jax has grown by 2 lbs in a week and has the diet to keep on growing! He is my "chunky monkey" :)

Whether we have grown accustomed to the changes or changed things on our own, we are growing...as a family.
