Catch up

Well, I've been reminded by someone ('cough' mom) that I am behind on events of the year. So this post is a catch-up of happenings that weren't written about before.

HALLOWEEN!

We had our college kids home group over the week of Halloween and we carved pumpkins together. Guess which one I did for Corey? :)

We had a cold and rainy Halloween this year. The kids still came out though. I bought 400 pieces of candy and had ten left at the end of two hours!

Jax was dressed up as a Ninja Turtle. I couldn't find a normal turtle outfit for him to wear, so this worked.

Of course he had to have pizza slices and some flip flops on. Every ninja turtle has them.

NANA VISITS!

Shortly after Halloween, Nana and Aunt Donna came to visit! Jax seemed to recognize Nana from all the FaceTime chats. We went out to eat and had a great time.

THANKSGIVING!

After the flu big hit we recovered, sanitized the house, and got ready for guests. We hosted Thanksgiving this year  with Jax meeting his cousins for the first time.

First live Christmas Tree:

The Saturday after Thanksgiving Corey, dad, Jax, and myself headed out to find and retrieve our first live tree for the house. If you don't know, Corey LOVES trees. (I had to go back and capitalize love). He had us trek over a river, and through some woods, to grandm....no not really. We went up some hills and he found THE ONE. It was 11ft tall though and we knew only 8 ft of that would fit in our living room. The owner of the farm was very nice and only charged us for 6 ft and we tied it up and headed home.

I'd like to say that we made it back okay. But I can't. Half way down the road and wooosh! The tree flies off the pilot. Dad and Corey haul it back, tie it again but with only half the strong this time; since the other half was gone. And dad held on to it through the window the rest of the way home.

We cut off 3 feet at the top and trimmed of the branches. It is so beautiful and worth the trouble it gave us :)

We had a wonderful October and November. Jax has changed so much and we have experience more than we expected. Thankful for all these times with family and friends. Look forward to reading about the next adventure!
